Neuqua Valley Speech Team

For anyone interested in learning more about Speech Team and auditioning for it, here are the dates you need to know!

3:00p, Monday, September 26^th: Informational Meeting (Library, Main Campus) — if you were on the team last year, you do NOT need to attend this meeting.

3:00p, Tuesday, September 27^th: Informational Meeting (Forum Room, Gold Campus)

2:45p, Tuesday, October 4^th – Wednesday, October 5^th: Speech Team Auditions (D219, Main Campus)

For anyone interested in attending the Neuqua Valley Speech Team Summer Camp, you can download the application here (PDF)!

The camp is for current team members, incoming freshmen, and anyone else interested in learning more about public speaking.

A few things to note:

• The camp will take place August 8^th-12^th from 8:00-11:00a
• The activities at camp will change from the past. We’re still working out the exact details, but rest assured these changes will benefit everybody!
• The cost is $175 and all checks should be made out to Wildcat Speech.
• If you are interested in attending, please let me know ahead of time so I can get the appropriate amount of materials.

As always, please let me know if you have any questions about these camps. Along with the captains, I would strongly encourage you to attend one if you’re able to (in addition to the Neuqua one!) 🙂

The date for banquet is set for Wednesday, March 16^th from 6:00 – 9:00p. It’ll take place at Tamarack Golf Club (just like last year).

The cost will be $13/person. (I’ll email you soon with more information about how/when to make the payment.)

We tried to accommodate as many people as we could! My apologies if you have a conflict that night.

Here’s what you need to know:

— Please be ready to leave (in Speech suits and all) as soon as possible after 2nd period near the auditorium. If you need a little extra time, we won’t leave without you, but please get there quickly.

— The amount for the hotel will be $35. Please bring checks made out to Hemant Mehta. Ms. La Scola will collect them on Friday as you leave.

— You will have to pay for your own food, so bring whatever amount you might need! I was told the following concessions would be available:

Congratulations, State team! It’s always a tremendous accomplishment to make it to that level and you should be very proud of yourselves.

The plan for the week is to have two one-hour practices with each of you. Please don’t sign up for sessions back-to-back! We should be seeing you two separate days! Like always, bring critiques and scripts.

Also, keep in mind that the State team will be meeting as a group on Wednesday after school. (Super happy fun times, I promise.)

We’ll have a State Runthrough on Thursday afternoon.
