We WILL have a meeting Monday after school!

There is NO team meeting on Monday.

There are NO practices this week.

We’ll see you on Monday night at 5:00p for the Open House! See the post below for all the details!

On Monday, we will NOT have a regular team meeting after school. We will, however, have our annual Open House for family and friends!

Who?

All of you! This is required for all Speech members (unless you have spoken to me already). Family members and friends are encouraged to attend!

When?

Monday, November 24^th.

Speech team members should arrive in the auditorium at 5:00p for pictures. Dress in Speech attire! Look good!

Family members and friends should arrive by 5:15p for a welcome and announcements!

Performances begin promptly at 5:30p.

At 7:00p, we will move to the auditorium for special performances. We should be done before 8:00p.

What should you bring?

If you are in the following categories, you should bring snacks (cookies, chips, brownies, muffins, etc): ES, HDA, HI, IS, Dec, OO, DI, PR

If you are in the following categories, you should bring drinks (juice, soda): RS, DDA, Poe, SOS

If you are in the following category, you should bring cups: Info

If you are in the following category, you should bring napkins: OC

The Neuqua Speech Team is going roller skating!

When: This Sunday, November 23, from 2:00-4:00 p.m.
Where: Aurora Skate Center
Who: Everyone on the team (and alums)!!!
Cost: Admission is $6 and skate rental is $4 (If you have your own, bring them!)

Call your category leader, one of the upperclassmen, or a captain if you need a ride!

Here is the information you need for Saturday! Remember: This week only, we’re taking only 3 strings (in most events) to Thornton High School — unfortunately we can’t bring people who are not competing!

Who’s going where?

The tentative roster can be seen here. Please let me know if there are any problems! Only those highlighted in green will be competing.

When will it end?

We should be home around 7:30p.

Extemp and Radio?

ES and RS will both prep once for prelims and again for finals. One of the rounds will be double-judged.

What time should you be at Neuqua?

Bus leaves at 5:45a. Yes, that’s early. Be there earlier.

Do you want a Speech Noodie? (Of course you do!)

They are $13 each. All you have to do is fill out this form and give the money to Sarah Kingsbury by next Monday’s meeting! (Checks should be made out to Wildcat Speech.)

Hello All:

I am sorry for last week’s cancellation of practices; I really do truly dislike the month of November :O)

Also, let’s acknowledge the time slot taken and conclude as close to the end time you signed up for, otherwise everyone else it behind and we all have other obligations that must be respected.

This week, for Prose, pieces should be cut and memorized.

For OO, you should be done with your writing and memorized…you need to be done with your research, and have something that seems like a speech, following proper OO formatting.

For Radio, record yourself reading through an old script, so we can listen together.

Finally, starting in December, ALL PROSE AND OO PEOPLE WILL NEED TO TAPE THEMSELVES! That’s right; you will start taping yourself so we can watch what you’re doing well (and we can “see” if we “see” the same issues!)
