The Varsity roster is now available here.
Just to explain the coaches’ thought process, we considered a lot of factors in deciding who to bring back and where to put you.
The main things we discussed were:
1) Attendance: Did you come to team meetings, postseason run-throughs, tournaments, and practices?
2) Attitude: Were you supportive of your teammates, willing to take advice from Category Leaders and coaches and judges, and someone who contributed to a culture of joy and excellence?
3) Auditions: Did you take your audition video seriously? Did you show serious improvement from last year? Are you where you need to be at this stage in your Speech career?
For the students who are not on the roster, at least one of those categories was a serious concern for us.
For those who are returning to the team, we may have moved you to an event you didn’t select because we’d like to see what you can do in other categories. As always, there will be opportunities later for trying another category (or a second one), but we expect you to do your best where we placed you!
Coaches will not be available to discuss individual placements, but we hope this explanation of our thinking makes sense.
