Congrats on getting the first novice meet under your belts (well, a few varsity too!).

Due to the wack-a-doo schedule with school this week, I will meet with full categories, with the priorities on the varsity members who will be at their first meet this week. If the novices would like to attend, the more eyes on varsity peeps, the better.

All varsity members need to be as memorized as possible; after all, you will be the people who have to perform on Saturday 🙂

Who’s going?

The tentative roster can be found here. Please let me know if there are any problems!

When will it end?

We should be home around 6:30p.

Extemp and Radio?

Extemp will prep twice at the tournament and once for finals.

Radio will prep at home the day before.

What time should you be at Neuqua?

Bus leaves at 6:30a. Be there early!

The Parent Night event will take place from 6:00 – 7:00p in C202 (the Main Building’s Forum Room).

Students are welcome to come, too (though they probably know most of the information by now).

What excitement, what energy, what joy I feel as this schedule is constructed! The only thing that could possibly dampen this joy would be lack of memorization…

Working with an un-memorized piece is like watching a square roll down a hill. It goes slow, nothing really happens, and I get bored. Almost a month after auditions memorization is a must.

This weekend is DGN, our first tournament of the year. Novices must be ready!!! But a number of varsity are competing as well. The season is under way!

Please bring a fresh and updated copy of your script!

This week I want to see full categories; the novices will be competing at their first real meet, and that is a difficult and exciting time for them. With that said, I will need to see Radio, Info, and DEC with category leaders and novices. If the other varsity members within the category want to be there, please do join us. The more eyes on the novices to help them improve and feel confident, the better.

All varsity members need to be working on their final edits (tell me if you need significant help editing) and memorizing the parts that we have already finalized. Don’t forget we are getting close to your first meet of the 2016 season as well!
